Sound allowance is your child's weekly exposure budget. SoundSafe Kids shows how much allowance has already been used so you can act before exposure gets too high.
SoundSafe Kids is the only child hearing-safety app built around WHO-ITU child guidance for weekly sound-allowance tracking, so families can understand cumulative exposure instead of relying on one momentary meter reading.
SoundSafe Kids uses your iPhone's built-in microphone with on-device signal processing to provide reliable relative measurements. While not lab-calibrated, it's designed to help you make practical decisions about your child's noise exposure.

Under consistent conditions, readings are useful for understanding whether an environment is getting louder or quieter and whether you should consider taking action.

SoundSafe Kids is not a medical device, does not make health claims, and is not a certified compliance or laboratory measurement tool.
No. SoundSafe Kids is local-first and no account is required. Your measurements, profiles, and history stay on your device.
Yes. We process audio in real-time to calculate levels, but we never record, store, or transmit your raw audio.
SoundSafe Kids Free includes the noise meter and basic safety feedback. Paid adds saved family personalization — multiple children with optional sound sensitivity and support context (autism, ADHD, and more), plus custom places and things — and organized history.
On iPhone, visit soundsafe.kids/check to open the SoundSafe Quick Check App Clip. After you allow the microphone, you get a live dBA reading and practical status guidance without installing the full app. Install SoundSafe Kids from the clip when you want weekly sound allowance, guided checks, and saved child profiles.
Deleting the app from your iPhone removes local measurement history, child profiles, and place profiles from that device. If you previously contacted support or requested beta access, those submissions are handled by our service team.
